At Wisley Pyrotechnics Inc., safety is always our top priority. Fireworks are exciting, powerful, and memorable, but they must always be handled with care, respect, and responsibility.
Whether you are a consumer, hobbyist, retailer, trained shooter, or professional display company, it is your responsibility to understand and follow all applicable federal, state, and local laws before purchasing, transporting, storing, or using fireworks.
Adult Supervision
Always have a responsible adult present when fireworks are being used. Never allow young children to handle, ignite, or play with fireworks.
Read All Instructions
Before lighting any firework, carefully read and follow the directions on the product label. Never modify, alter, combine, or create homemade fireworks.
Alcohol & Fireworks Do Not Mix
Never operate fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The person lighting fireworks should remain alert, focused, and responsible.
Keep Water Nearby
- Garden hose
- Bucket of water
- Fire extinguisher
Use a Safe Location
- Use fireworks outdoors only
- Place fireworks on a hard, flat, level surface
- Stay away from buildings, vehicles, trees, power lines, dry grass, crops, and spectators
Protect Yourself
- Wear safety glasses
- Wear closed-toe shoes
- Never lean over a firework while lighting it
Light One Firework at a Time
Ignite only one firework at a time and move away immediately after lighting.
Never Re-Light a Dud
- Wait at least 20 minutes
- Do not attempt to relight it
- Soak it thoroughly with water
- Dispose of it safely
Proper Disposal
Allow spent fireworks to cool completely, soak them in water, and dispose of them according to local guidelines.
Protect Pets and Animals
- Keep pets indoors
- Provide a quiet, secure space
- Make sure identification tags are current
- Notify nearby animal owners when appropriate
